Kathryn (Katie) Trejo, LMFT
Clinical Supervisor

Kathryn (Katie) Trejo is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Lic. # 126619) who has been practicing since 2013. A lifelong resident of the Antelope Valley, she maintains deep roots in the local community and is committed to serving individuals and families in the region. As a first-generation college graduate, earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Katie is passionate about supporting and encouraging others—particularly first-generation students and clinicians—who are pursuing higher education and professional growth.

Following graduate school, Katie intentionally returned to her home community to serve adolescents and young adults in a variety of roles, including youth ministry and middle school education. These experiences shaped her clinical focus and fostered a strong passion for working with adolescents, emerging adults, individuals navigating life transitions, clients experiencing mood disorders, and first-generation Latinx individuals.

Katie highly values the role of supervision and mentorship in clinical development. Her approach to supervision is informed by her own experiences with supervisors who provided patient, intentional, and strengths-based guidance. She is dedicated to offering a supportive and collaborative supervisory environment that emphasizes clinical skill development, professional identity formation, and confidence building. Katie strives to recognize and enhance each supervisee’s existing strengths while fostering curiosity, ethical practice, and clinical competence.

Clinically, Katie works from a psychodynamic framework and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) interventions as appropriate to meet individual client needs. She is able to incorporate a faith-based perspective when desired by the client and frequently utilizes creative and expressive modalities, including art, to support emotional exploration and insight.

Katie believes that clients—and supervisees—are the experts in their own experiences. Whether in the therapy room or in supervision, she approaches her work as a collaborative process, walking alongside others as they deepen understanding, develop skills, and move toward growth and healing.
