Associate Therapist

Join our team as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Master of Social Work (MSW) and help us provide vital mental health support to a diverse population, including veterans, couples, and (BIPOC) communities.

Requirements- The candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • Have a minimum of a Master’s degree in clinical psychology, counseling, marriage & family therapy, or social work, or closely related field.
  • Have an active California BBS registration to practice as an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist, Associate Clinical Social Worker, or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor and be on the first BBS registration number.
  • BBS registration must not be restricted or have past suspensions or revocations from the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Must enjoy being part of a supportive team and professional work culture.
  • Be willing to work with clients from diverse backgrounds, work with individuals, teens, couples, veterans, parents involved with child protective services, and practice strong cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs of diverse client populations.
  • Meet with clients virtually.

Work Experience- The candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in; mental health, evidenced based practices, different therapeutic modalities, case management, crisis management, conflict resolution, diagnosing, and knowledge of the DSM-V.

Skills- The prospective clinician/therapist must be preferably bi-lingual in English and Spanish, have mental health assessment experience, pays attention to detail, and have strong writing skills. The candidate must also be able to use technology to carry out duties. (Training will be provided for health record/ telehealth software).

Responsibilities- The Associate Therapist will provide counseling and psychotherapy treatment services to diverse populations through telehealth. Furthermore, the candidate will maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with regulatory standards. Complete the required paperwork (progress notes, bio-psychosocial assessments, Mental Status Exam, diagnosis, and discharge summaries) within 48 hours. The prospective clinician will also be required to participate in weekly clinical supervision.
