Immigration Psychosocial Evaluations

(HABLAMOS ESPAÑOL)

You’ve come to our page as you may be seeking an immigration psychosocial evaluation due to a current immigration case that you have pending. A psycho-social evaluation, is conducted to determine how your mental health and emotional stability may have been impacted due to past trauma and current concerns related to your pending immigration case.

The evaluations that we administer are specifically related to the following immigration issues:

  • Hardship Evaluations
  • Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)
  • Victims of Trafficking (T Visa)
  • Victims of Crime (or U-Visa)

These evaluations add insight to your emotional, mental, physical, social, and financial hardship as a result of the presenting immigration situation therefore, by undergoing a psychosocial evaluation it may be beneficial to your immigration case.

Throughout your evaluation process we offer you a safe space for you to discuss your concerns, while allowing us to gather details about your past traumas and specific hardships related to your immigration case.

Our immigration psychosocial evaluations consist of 6 steps:

1) In-depth interviews for a total of 2-3 appointments (3-4 hours total)

2) In-depth acquisition of your personal background and history

3) A thorough assessment of any presenting mental health symptoms/impairments

4) A thorough assessment of possible hardships related to your immigration case.

5) Completion of your immigration psycho-social evaluation report.

6) Distribution of your finalized report to you and your attorney.

Please note, that the interviews may be conducted in English or Spanish and may take place in our office, virtually, or in your home.

Once all information has been provided the evaluator will utilize the information to construct a thorough report within 15 days after your last interview. Once the report has been finalized it will be reviewed with you and a signed finalized copy will be provided to you and your attorney.

Note: Expedited reports (5-7 days after the last interview) may be provided for an additional fee. Also, payment for services can be divided into three equal payments however, services must be paid in full prior to receiving the final evaluation report.
