Nurturing Future Mental Health Therapists:

Dedicated to supporting Associate Clinical Social Workers (ACSW) and Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFT) on their path to becoming accomplished Mental Health Therapists, my professional journey, education, and fervor for the field define my mentorship approach. Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University of Long Beach in 2003, I established the foundation for a career committed to uplifting individuals and communities through mental health support.

Continuing my educational pursuit, I earned a Master of Social Work from California State University of Long Beach in 2010, fostering a profound understanding of social dynamics, human behavior, and the nuances of therapeutic interventions. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW 75598) since 2017, I bring a wealth of expertise to guide and mentor aspiring therapists on their transformative journey towards becoming fully licensed mental health professionals.

With 19 years of experience in the human and social services field, my professional trajectory has been marked by a dedication to addressing a broad spectrum of mental health challenges. My expertise extends to diverse areas, including depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, couples and family counseling, as well as navigating the intricate landscape of infertility and adoption.

Depression, a prevalent mental health challenge, is a primary focus of my mentorship. I collaborate with ACSWs and AMFTs, imparting evidence-based interventions and strategies to provide effective and empathetic care for clients dealing with depression.

Guiding clinicians in addressing anxiety and stress is another crucial aspect of my mentorship. I empower ACSWs and AMFTs with therapeutic techniques to assist clients in managing and overcoming these pervasive challenges, emphasizing resilience-building and practical tools for anxiety reduction and stress management.

Recognizing the profound impact of trauma on mental health, I provide specialized guidance to ACSWs and AMFTs, emphasizing trauma-informed care and evidence-based interventions to support clients on their healing journey.

In the realm of couples and family counseling, my mentorship centers on navigating the challenges of interpersonal dynamics. I offer insights and practical skills to ACSWs and AMFTs by fostering positive change within relationships and family systems.

Moreover, my expertise extends to the sensitive areas of infertility and adoption where I guide therapists in training to support clients through these unique challenges, ensuring a compassionate and informed approach to family-building.

My mentorship also involves imparting a versatile approach to treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and considerations for a faith-based/spiritual dimension when appropriate. Associates Therapists are also equipped with a comprehensive toolkit, allowing them to tailor interventions to the diverse needs of their clients.

My commitment as a mentor and guide stems from a profound understanding of the pivotal role supervision plays in shaping the next generation of Mental Health Therapists. With a rich educational background, extensive professional experience, and an unwavering dedication to providing holistic and culturally sensitive care, I am enthusiastic about supporting ACSWs and AMFTs through the essential process of supervision. This ensures their growth and readiness to excel in the dynamic field of mental health therapy.
